This master's thesis delved into the intricate interplay between humanity and the landscape, aiming to achieve a harmonious balance between adaptation and conservation. At its heart lay the village of Castelnuovo Berardenga, situated amidst the picturesque landscapes of the Chianti region in Italy, near Siena.
In this context, a design project was proposed to introduce interventions carefully tailored to enhance the connectivity between humans and the land. These interventions aimed to improve functionality while seamlessly blending with the natural beauty of the landscape.
Through an ongoing dialogue with local authorities, the aim was to investigate potential strategies for the region's evolution. This involved grappling with key factors shaping contemporary landscape transformations, such as the impact of mass tourism, infrastructural developments, urbanization pressures, and the evolving agricultural sector.
